Opus Gluei challenge #72 Ease(l) into fall. Autumn Leaves scalloped circle Easel Card.

Well talk about serendipity at work here.
Love the pun on the title ladies at Opus Gluei.
I have recently finished this card for my MIL who asked for something in Autumn colours.
Nothing too wacky although bless her she wouldn't have minded if it was, 'cos miracle of miracles in the wonderful world of families, she thinks I'm good enough for her son so she puts up with good grace the strange things I make!
She was lucky my Stampotique stamps hadn't arrived yet otherwise she would have got Poor Pearl.
Click on it to make it bigger.

How I made it.
Background paper made using inkadinks in Cherry Pie, Mango and yummy Yellow from the brights range. Oversprayed with gold mica powder. Instructions here

Largest scallop nestie used from the classic scalloped circle large set.
All stamping using Versafine in Vintage Sepia.
The leaves are from Habico, Autumn Leaves 2 set. I stamped them onto thin card. Coloured with watercolour pencils.
Silhouette birds on bottom of easel card are Crafty Individuals.
Heat embossed using Versamark and Stampendous in Detail Gold.
Quickie glue pen and Decor Art Glamour Dust in gold used on veins of the leaves.
Happy Birthday sentiment free with Papercraft Inspirations magazine.

I'm rushing now because OMG I think I might actually be first on the linky thingy on Opus Gluei.
See; miracles do happen everyday.

Happy creating everyone!

Love this easel card Gini - the Autumnal colours are beautiful and the shiny spritz really does show up well on your photo. Your MIL is very lucky to have a DIL like you!

First? I think you were there before the ink was dry on the challenge! lol This card is SO PRETTY Gini, I wish I were your MIL. (I'm probably old enough) Don't maligne Poor Pearl tho, I think she's sexy with all that chest har.
Hey, I've passed on a Cherry on Top award to you, but don't feel you need to participate in the process. It's just my way of saying thank you for being you.
And sending a big hug.

Love this card. Your MIL is one lucky lady to have you. I don't make cards for some of MY blood relations. LOL. Wonderful timing. I love when we can be so accomodating. Thanks for joining us at OPUS GLUEI. You're Number 1 this week.

What MIL wouldn't love having you for a DIL? Seriously, you're such a happy delightful soul in this increasingly gloomy world and we love you for your enthusiasm!

This card is fab, I have never thought to do one in a scallop, you clever girl you. The colors are amazing and to answer a question you asked me, I have never tried adding a little ooomph of substances (thin chipboard, etc.) to my cards but I will consider it to keep it from buckling. THANKS for the tip!

As always, thank you for participating with us at Opus Gluei! (oh and I commented on the link post that you included in this so you must this moment run over and see it)(lol)

As for tea time snacks, I may have a little yogurt and tea around that time. I would prefer a nice chocolate digestive but the effects of those McVitie's are quite evident all around my midsection. (LMAO - don't I wish I could LMAO)

Wow! Fabulous easel card. Would love to have a go. Thanks for the link & for your lovely blog comment. Funny you should mention wanting a dog for a while! I was only thinking that myself last week. Still missing my little one each day!
Hope you have a lovely Sunday. Happy crafting. Gez.xx

Bit confused over the construction of these easel cards though; does it close? (Sorry to be thick)

Yes Easel cards close.
Easel cards are easy peasy.
Have a look.

To do die cut shapes like I have done I followed Debbie Dolphins instructions in Craft Stamper page 28, May 2010 although a google search should find you instructions if you don't have Craft Stamper mag.
I love Craft Stamper magazine!!
